Just a little update on the Plateau Project. I have been using Livestrong.com, both online and on my iPhone, and it seems to be working. Each week I lost a pound, a loss that perfectly ok with me. I would really rather have a small, but consistent loss, than the roller coaster I have been on, weight wise, for the past 6 months. I do miss the "extra" points/calories I was allowed on WW, but for the most part, it seems to be just as easy to stay within a calorie goal, as a long as I plan ahead, than it was to stay within my points. I also feel like it is a perfect "next step" for me in my weight loss. I learned how to eat healthier within points, and now I am learning how to really evaluate the calories I am eating, what they are "worth" in terms of amount and nutritional value, and make choices from there.
I still have poor choices days, ones where I eat that little fun size bag of M&M's in the afternoon, and then REALLY have to watch what I eat as a night snack because I wasted my calories on something crappy earlier, but such is life. I am even more happy to report that this is so ingrained in me now, that I spent a week in Hollywood, living off of restaurant food, and then came back home to birthday dinners and whatnot, and only backslid to the total of .6 lbs gained. I was expecting much worse, but I guess I am getting better at making good food choices every single time I can, so I can indulge here and there.
