Why is Nothing Working? GRRRRR!!

I have to admit I am just a little discouraged with this whole weight loss thing. After looking over my weight loss charts I realized that I have been in the 254-244lbs range SINCE XMAS. Now I admit, there were weeks were I had less than stellar eating habits, but since I have never been a binger, it was really just more of social event eating (i.e I had an extra hot dog, or a couple bears, nothing extravagant) or I had to make a choice of two evils at a restaurant, and it was still a crappy choice. I really can't believe that it would cause me to stay where I am at weight wise for this long of a period. Honestly I am scared that if it keeps up I am finally going to revert back to my old habits and say screw it.

But, to help stave off this, what I feel is, impending doom, I am trying to re-work (as suggested by a number of people) how I am approaching my weight loss. Last post I said I had officially dropped the "new" Weight Watchers. Plateau or not, I ended up hating the new system. It just didn't mesh as well as the old with me and the results were not as consistent as my first time around on the "old" system. I would rather lose .5 lb every week consistently than lose 4 one week and then gain 1 the next. While it is still a net loss, its more of a psychological thing. Now, I am taking a break from WW altogether and trying just straight calorie counting with Livestrong.com. It takes out the "extra" weekly points but still allows me to eat fairly close to what I was eating before, I just have to be a little more mindful of each days planned food. I have also rethought my workouts. I had been walking 3 miles per day, 5 days per week for the past 6 months. I am now doing 1/4 mile running/walking intervals for 3 miles on Monday/Friday, Walking 30 mins/Free Weights 30 mins on Wed/Saturday and walking 3 miles on Sunday. I am also adding more protein to my diet through GNC's Lean Shake because that will help build lean muscle. I am trying to remember to take my vitamins, and I am taking some caffeine supplements to try and jump start my metabolism. I don't know if the supplements are working, but I have to say that this is the most awake and alert I have felt in YEARS, and there is no jitters and no crash. So money well spent even if they don't help me drop any weight. Hopefully, these things, as I am told, will help bump me out of this limbo I am in.

What did/do you do in situations like this?
