Hi Sue, stumbled across your blog and first off, congrats on the weight loss! I'm NOT a runner but I do it for fitness, I've been chasing after that runner's high or love for running for a while now (well 3 years haha) and the furthest I got is about 14K of straight running? Needless to say, I'm back to 3K walk/run every (other) week, but you know what? I think I'm happier this way, I also cross-train in other sports, and still manage to lose more weight than I had with just running. Good luck on the 5K! I suggest investing in an iPod or iPhone, and getting the Jeff Galloway 5K app. You can also use the Nike+ sensor for tracking to give you that sense of achievement after runs. :) Good luck and I will be rooting for you!
